Our client is looking for one Asphalt Foreman / Paving Foreman to join their team in  Holland Landing – Ontario.

Job Duties:

• Perform thorough daily maintenance and safety checks of the equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize risks.
• Preheat the paving screed before placing asphalt, while closely monitoring and controlling the temperature settings of the asphalt mixture for optimal results.
• Manually light burners to start heating units of the paver and regulate screed temperature, as needed.
• Skillfully operate the paver controls to lower the screed auger, control the hopper, and navigate the direction of the paver with precision.
• Align the paving machine properly when receiving asphalt from a dump truck, ensuring a constant flow into the hopper while safely pushing the dump truck along the construction surface.
• Diligently observe the distribution of paving material along the screed, adjusting its direction to eliminate voids at curbs and joints for a flawless finish.
• Line up the paver appropriately to the work area, ensuring proper application of asphalt by smoothing it evenly to achieve the desired height, width, and depth.
• Continuously monitor asphalt temperature flowing from the hopper to maintain optimal conditions throughout operations.
• Take on a leadership role by training new employees in safe and efficient paver operation techniques.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of our company's Code of Ethics by examining situations in light of its principles.

Job Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction is required.
• A valid Class A driver's license is required for this role.
• Two years of experience operating a Paver is required.
• Strong work ethic, and initiative.
• Great focus and attention to detail.
